Rewind, Replay

Today's PE was totally screwed.

Current PE module: Gym.

We had to come up with a sequence for a music that we would pick. The sequence would have to consist of 3 jumps, 3 balances, and 3 rolls.

So my group picked numb and an emo theme. Since I brought a camera (with a back-up speaker) which could barely be heard (if you turn it all the way up it's noisy) the previous lesson on Friday last week, our 'performance' got postponed to today.

So I brought Meteora CD I borrowed from my brother.

I had quite a time trying to figure out the appropriate sound volume for the song because the starting (which consisted of the cue to start) was super soft and then the whole song is basically quite loud.

We tried to practise, but we screwed it up cuz' Gloria and Rachel didn't know which direction to forward roll in for the 2nd forward roll (highly probably due to the fact that I forgot to state the direction).

So we abandoned the practice.

I think it was Ash's group that went first today.

They did cool.

So next was my group's turn (recognized by Gloria's name) and so we had Mel help us with the CD. I had to remind Mua Ha not to smile.

So we attempted to do the gym thing. There were many occassions where the group forgot their steps and someone (mostly me, maybe because I was the one who typed out the sequence) had to tell them what to do.

I, being the hypocrite I am, smile when I gave them corrections instead of doing that with a straight face as I was supposed to have one on throughout the whole 'performance'.

It was fun. I liked the tripod stand. Loved it.

When we finished, the class clapped. To me, it sounded like the clapping was the loudest for our group than the others.

Next was Eda's group. I had completely no idea what was going on because I was too dazed about finally completeing the gym sequence. All I knew was that there were some super gross actions (as in act REALLY sexy) and also things that almost the rest of her team couldn't do.

After Eda's group, Mrs. Annis announced that halfway through our performance, the film ran out so we had to redo. All of us were, like, huh... (whining, if you didn't get that).

So once again, we got Mel to do the honours.

That was so screwed up. I freaking smiled in the middle of nowhere and I don't know why I did that. Ruined the whole mood, I did.

When we were finally done, we were then supposed to be assessed for our forward rolls and tripod stands. I couldn't do a forward roll. I must be the only person in class who couldn't. Quite a few people came and asked me how to do a tripod stand (maybe cuz' I did one in the sequence).

So I only had about quite a little time to train my forward roll. I always end up rolling to my left...

So you can basically guess that my forward roll was terrible. So Rachel taught me how to do it. She said get into position, head as close to body as possible, then lift your but up and push yourself forward.

When I followed her instructions, I did it perfectly! YAY! THANKS A BUNCH, RACHEL!

So I tried to teach Rachel, Gloria and a little bit of Mua Ha how to do a tripod stand. Mua Ha could do it even without me teaching, so...GOOD FOR YOU!

Rachel still had a bit of a problem, and so did Gloria. I think it's because their legs keep slipping off their arms, otherwise I think it's fine.

So when Rachel was called up to be assessed for her forward roll, she asked me to support her (it always sounded like 'spot' to me...). So I did. I thought we were going to be assessed on both forward roll and tripod stand together, so I asked which one first. Mrs. Annis replied, "Forward roll."

So I got into position to support Rachel. When she was done, I was about to walk off, totally forgetting that I was the person after her in register order (either that or prepare to support Rachel for tripod). Mrs. Annis told me to do the forward roll, and I was like...oh dang.

Amidst mumblings of degrading myself, I got into position, still screaming in my head 'OH NO! DANG IT!' and the likes. So Rachel went to support me. Mrs. Annis told her to squat and do it instead of stand.

Rachel told me to do it the way she taught me.

You know, I was scared of forward rolls because I was afraid I'd break my neck, so I never tried to do it properly before. Thus when I completed the forward roll, I muttered to myself in surprise, "It didn't hurt..."

And I was cheering in my head that my neck didn't crack.

Thank God. (I can use God's name in here, right?)

That was basically all the good and juicy parts of today.

Oh yeah, did I mention I stayed back for a long time and bombarded Mrs. Tay with lots of questions on the Phosphate, Phosphite, and Phosphide thing?

It was really cool. I got to learn why some elements conduct electricity and why some don't. I also got to know how pencil lead works, and also lots of other things that make me wanna take up the 3 Sciences even more.

YAY! I LOVE SCIENCE!
