I just watched part of the 2008 Olympics opening ceremony. The first performance of the many men in silver playing many drums made me go 'wow, men dancing in sync'.
Then it got dull after that. There was a 9 year old girl in a red dress singing, then there were dancers dancing on paper and at the same time painting with their hands (this part was cool), then there was the marching in, and also some weird large boards being waved around.
I went down again after bathing to see Singapore marched in. Who knows, they didn't do that until at least an hour after I started sitting there again. My butt hurts now.
So yeah, it goes according to the number of strokes followed by the stroke itself rather than the universal alphabetical order, but Singapore was still one of the last anyway.
You know what? Singapore('Xin Jia Po')'s first character has 13 strokes! 13!
China went last, even though they had 4 strokes only. China had 639 people participating in the Olympics, if I didn't hear wrongly...
I thought, what would the Singaporeans think of the NDP Parade after seeing this opening ceremony?
