Mangas You Don't Want to Read (I)

I'm bored, so I'm posting this.

These are a list of mangas that you most definitely do NOT want to read. They're mostly (correction, all) shoujo, cuz' shoujo mangas usually have very superficial plots.

I only read them cuz' I thought the drawings were cool.

1) Oresama Ouji (mangafox)

Oh the overly cliched crap about tripping and a boy with angelically cute looks catches you. It's a 3 chapter story about a girl who stops doing Judo because she says it drives men away from her.

Then the president of the boy's Judo club comes and makes her the manager (against her will). She then gets kidnapped and whimpers like a spoilt brat when she could have at least put up a fight cuz' she knew Judo.

As usual, the knight in shining armour appears to rescue her without a thought for his own well-being. Touched, she falls in love with him.

In chapter 3, a boy appears out of nowhere and blackmails her into being his girlfriend. It's so obvious that it's just a filler to waste time.

Of course, the series ends with the blackmail being unsuccessful and she returns to the Judo club president.

Drawing (shoujo standard): 9
Plot: 2
Overall enjoyment: 3 (bonus for the drawing)

2) The Prince Who Fell in Love (mangafox)

This is just a bunch of lame oneshots that conclude like a cliched shoujo manga should. Except that in these, it's not the girl who confesses (like usual) but the guy, so that's a refreshing twist...

The drawings are pretty oldish, and the only thing I liked about it was the hands. The guys look gay and the girls look too preppy. But maybe I'm just biased cuz' I've seen better...

Drawing (shoujo standard): 6
Plot: 3
Overall enjoyment: 2 (I'm telling you it's lame)

3) Kissu de Mezame Sasete (mangafox)

Yuck. What a hastily put together story. No doubt the mangaka can draw bishounen, but the girl is a bit...ew. The plot is too simple and the outcome is totally expected.

The story concludes too quickly without much complications, so it's not really much of a story to me...

Drawing (shoujo standard): 7
Plot: 2
Overall enjoyment: 2 (boring...)

4) Kusame and Komaki and the Key of Love (mangafox)

Firstly, what kind of lame title is that? Key of love? Don't make me puke. Such a long and draggy title won't draw anyone in...

If not for the drawings I'd have left it alone...anyway, this is just about a boy who got confessed to by a girl and accepts because he doesn't want to hurt her.

But because he has no feelings but sympathy for her, he tries to break up in a manner that doesn't hur her feelings.

In the end, when they broke up, he realizes how deep her love for him is and goes back into a relationship. I mean, what the heck?

But at least the story isn't as compressed as Oresama Ouji's...

Drawing (shoujo standard): 9
Plot: 3
Overall enjoyment: 4

5) Merry Go Round in Wonderland (mangafox)

My goodness! That sucked big time! I really don't get the plot flow, and the story is quite lame, so to speak.

The drawings are typical but on the good side, though.

Drawing (shoujo standard): 7
Plot: 2
Overall enjoyment: 2
